Winter PearlsThe "Winter Pearls Program" is a unique travel marketing program that aims to strengthen the mutual co-operation of the main actors in the travel business of the St. Petersburg Corridor area, to create the network of actors and proceed with realization of measures, and additionally to balance travel seasons in the St. Petersburg Corridor area (St. Petersburg and Leningrad Region and the South Eastern Finland). South-East Finland encompasses the regions of South Karelia (Lappeenranta and Imatra region), South Savo (Savonlinna and Mikkeli region) and Kymenlaakso (Kotka and Kouvola region). The main objective of the project is to increase the economical growth of the "St. Petersburg Corridor area" (St. Petersburg and Leningrad Region and South East Finland) in low season (October - March) by increasing the number of visitors from Europe focusing on Central Europe. Sub objectives of the project are to increase the awareness of selected target groups regarding the low season and to create the conditions for more attractive low season tourism.
